Yingge Ware Bowl Designed With Allow Pattern And Stripe Print | Taiwan, 20C¥5,000 (tax included)
A Taiwanese bowl with a raw glaze and a striped stamp, hand-painted with an arrow-like pattern. It was probably fired in the 1960s.
The production of ceramics in Taiwan began in earnest during the Japanese rule period. It’s far behind then other Asian countries, so the folksy and warm body, like ancient porcelain, has free and simple paintings that are unrelated to traditionalism.
This bowl might influence from Western works. It is an unusual design as if it were a fusion of French café au lait bowl and Asian rice bowl.
No notable damage except natural alteration during the kiln process on the base.
