Old Imari Ware Sacred Sake Bottle | Japan, 19C


An unique sacred miniature sake bottle. The unusual grayish porcelain, and the octopus arabesque, which is common in Imari porcelain, is depicted. And look closely, the part of the leaf is like a dot independently from the stem.

This type of small sake bottle called Omikidokkuri is a miniature that is offered to the alter nor daily use. Therefore, it is usually simple made but this piece is heavily made and restore with sophisticated Kintsugi which would tell, it was a important item at that time.

There is no damage other than gold repair of Kintsugi.
