Joseon Dynasty Buncheong Ware Flat Cup with Inlaid Design
SOLD OUTA Buncheong ware flat cup fired in the early Joseon Dynasty. Since the radial inlay design looks like the calendar of Mishima Shrine, it is called Mishima in Japan.
The pattern in the center of the ware is probably a peony that grows in clusters. The thick transparent glaze obscures the line, giving the impression of a sense of wonder as seen through frosted glass.
The chip on the rim made during the kiln process, and a minor chip is seen on the back side of it. Also an another minor kiln chip on the other side of the rim but no other notable defects and the condition is good.
