Blue And White Semi-Porcelain Bowl | China, late 16C

A blue and white porcelain bowl made in Southern China. Since this type of bowls have been excavated certain amount in Thailand and Philippines, it was produced on a large scale for export.

In the locality of Southern China, where the seesawing between China and Southeast Asia, which is neither associated with both, and that is paticularity of these wares designs are quite diverse. Abstructed and simplified Karako, Chinese children playing, are depicted.

It seems to have been used for tea ceremonies in Japan, and it does not look like overuse as a tableware. Good condition and the glaze remains well with smooth toutch. Signature of the original owner is written by ink on the inner base.
