Seto Ware Blue and White Printing Birdfeed Cups, Set of 2 | Japan, 19CSOLD OUT
Birdfeed cups baked in Seto in the early Meiji era. A unique arabesque pattern with a peacock feather motif is designed by copper plate printing, and with a handle for attaching to a birdcage. Although it is simple made by moulding with a template, it seems that such a hobby feed cup in taste feeling must be a luxury item at that time.
The size that can be used as sake cups. Both pieces are in good condition, except for shape distortion and attached ashes during the kiln process.
