Qing Dynasty Cizhou-type Ware Blue Glazed Vase

¥21,000 JPY

A bottle made in the Shanxi region during the Qing dynasty. Produced in the Cizhou-type kiln, which transitioned from producing white-ground black-painted work to the blue and white pottery. The bottle’s elongated shape, rising from a small base, is believed to be inspired by willow leaf vases from Jingdezhen, though the use of blue glaze offers a distinctive, cool design. The glaze shows some shrinkage in areas, adding a charming imperfection to the piece. It is a unique piece full of character that goes beyond the South China influences.

There is a slight dent on the base, but no other noticeable defects or odors. The piece is in good condition.
