Trần Dynasty Celadon Bowl with Fluted Lotus Flower Design
ARCHIVEDA celedon bowl fired during the later Lý dynasty to the Trần dynasty in Đại Việt (present-day northern Vietnam). It features a voluminous body with a fluted exterior, mimicking the elegance of a lotus flower. The rim is sharp and cleanly formed, further emphasizing the bowl’s refined shape. The five spur marks and olive green glaze are characteristic of early Vietnamese celadon, and this piece, in particular, is an example of outstanding intricacy. The bowl’s graceful design reflects the spiritual and cultural values of the period, making it not only a functional item but also a symbol of the beliefs and artistry of the era.
There are several small recolourings to the rim, but there are no other noticeable defects, and the condition is generally good.
