Inuyama Ware Blue and White Dish

ARCHIVED

A blue and white dish fired in Inuyama ware, Maruyama kiln. An expressive painting based on the story He Cried and the Bamboo Sprouted, one of China’s The Twenty-four Filial Exemplars, a classic text of Confucian filial piety. It is the work of the early Tenpo period when the production of the blue and white began in Inuyama Castle, and it is the work of the Zhangzhou kiln style, which is similar to the enamel works that represent the kiln. The rice-coloured glaze tone with multiple crackle glaze gives a profound taste.

Two hairlines on the rim, but they are repaired with lacquer and there is no leakage. Other than that, there are no noticeable defects and the condition is good. Come with a box.
