Joseon Dynasty Buncheong Ware Mishima Type Cup
ARCHIVED
A Buncheong ware Mishima-type or Inwha Buncheong flat cup, fired in the early Joseon dynasty. It exemplifies exquisite craftsmanship with delicate inlaid chrysanthemum flowers and circular lines and the glaze presents a graceful light green colour tone. Initially believed to have been made as a plate for offerings, its moderate depth and everted rim make it suitable for drinking sake. While there are sporadic dried glazes and stains present, the cup generally maintains a good luster, which will further develop with use.
A hairline can be observed on the lip of the cup, although it does not extend through to the other side. In addition, there is a single scratch line.
