Seto Ware Ofukei Glazed Cyrindrical Teabowl with Kizeto Style Design

ARCHIVED

A Seto ware cylindrical teabowl fired in Seto during the end of the Edo period to the early Meiji period. An example of the Kizeto style design with a cherry blossom stamped decoration and yellowish Ofukei glaze. The teabowl’s thin and lightweight body is meticulously glazed, extending even to the interior of the foot, echoing the original Kizeto piece. Its size makes it perfect for everyday use, and its surface boasts a rich, nourishing texture.

There is a hairline and chips on the lip that have been artfully repaired with Kintsugi. Aside from these repaired areas, there are no other noticeable defects.
