Tamba Ware Iron Glazed Small Jar
ARCHIVEDA Tamba ware small jar crafted in the late Edo period. It features a rounded vessel with a taut body, and the bottom is a thread-cut base. Covered in a dark brown iron glaze, the piece exhibits a glaze pool inside. Resembling the ‘Uruka jar’ used for preserving salted sweetfish innards, it features a no-lidded shape on the mouth and a quaint charm. Esteemed as a tea caddy, its well-worn lustre adds to its allure.
Although bearing kiln scratches, chips, and sticking marks, they have all aged gracefully. This piece includes a wooden lid.
