Mino Ware Taihaku-Type Blue and White Cup with Floral Design
ARCHIVED
A Soba-choko cup fired in Mino in the late Edo period. It is a type of pottery produced under the influence of Hizen porcelain, commonly known as ‘Taihaku-type.’ This piece is attractive for its softly painted pattern reminiscent of ‘Annan Shibori-de’, Vietnamese blurred blue and white wares, and its high raised base. Its compact, rounded form is visually appealing and comfortable to hold, adding to its allure.
There is a chip on the foot. Other than that, there are no noticeable defects, and the condition is good.
