Joseon Dynasty White Porcelain Teabowl
A white porcelain teabowl fired in the middle of the Joseon dynasty. Its voluminous form features an angled waist, an outward lip, and sand marks in the well from the layered firing. Crafted in the challenging post-Imjin War period, marked by political and economic adversity, this teabowl reflects the resilience and refined aesthetics of the era yet dignified appearance. The solid, bluish surface shows tasteful natural colouring spots, offering a distinctive tea-drinking experience uncommon for porcelain.
Several hairlines extend from the lip, and some surface scratches are present, but the teabowl remains in generally good condition. It comes with a drawstring pouch and is housed in a storage box.
