Goryeo Celadon Vase with Fluted Design
ARCHIVED
A celadon vase fired during the Goryeo period. This is an example of the coarse celadon type produced along the west coast at the same time as early Goryeo celadon and was supplied to local officers and elites along the southern coast, including Jeju Island. The vase features a long, fluted body with roughly carved patterns that exude a unique blend of rusticity and elegance of a wabi-sabi taste, making it an effortless addition to modern spaces.
One half of the surface has a matte texture due to its position in the kiln. Apart from kiln damages, there are no other noticeable defects and it is in excellent condition.
