Ryukyu Kingdom Tsuboya Ware Bottle with Chatter Decoration

ARCHIVED

A Tsuboya ware bottle fired at the end of the Ryukyu Kingdom. The white slip is applied to the entire body, and a chatter decoration is designed on the shoulders. These bottles are called Tsui-bin (twin bottles) and were offered to the altar in pairs on the left and right. The chatter decoration technique was introduced from Kyushu in the middle of the 18th century along with inlay and sea cucumber glaze design, and was mainly applied to various types of bottles. The soft surface tone and slanted neck are adorable.

There are multiple kiln scratches, but the kiln glits on the body becomes a landscape, and the acquired stains are also tasteful.
