Obori Soma Ware Green Glazed Dish

ARCHIVED

An Obori Soma ware dish made in the late Edo period. The Obori Soma ware is famous for the type Ao-Hibi (crackle-glazed celadon) around the Meiji period, but until then, a wide variety of glazes had been used. It is a versatile plate covered with copper green glaze and with an appropriate depth. The green glaze on the plate is rare compared to the bottle or tea pod in this kiln.

There are two short hairlines on the rim and a chip on the base, but overall the condition is good.
