Jin Dynasty Cizhou Ware White Slip Small Jar
ARCHIVEDA small jar fired in a Cizhou kiln during the Jin dynasty. The white slip is applied on the upper half of body and gives off a soft impression, while the well-fired light gray clay is exposed on the lower body. This type of plain Cizhou ware was historically referred to as “Kyoroku-de,” or Julu-type, due to the large quantities excavated from the ruins of Juluzhen, a town buried by Yellow River flooding. Its flat, rounded shape is both charming and functional, making it ideal for repurposing as a tea caddy or flower vase.
Despite minor chips and kiln damages on the rim and some dirt inside, the jar remains in excellent condition, free from other noticeable defects.
