Eastern Han Green Glazed Ladle
ARCHIVEDA green glazed ladle fired during the Later Han dynasty. This pottery ladle has a disc-shaped body, and the handle is shaped like a dragon or other auspicious creature. During the Han dynasty, various green-glazed ceramics were made as burial goods, and they were buried in graves to pray for happiness after death. Among them, a considerable number of jars and ear cups have been produced, and many have been unearthed, but the ladle is rare. The green glaze contains lead, so it is not suitable for practical use, but the complex texture with its rainbow-like patina is mesmerising and makes it perfect for viewing.
There are no noticeable defects other than silvering and slight glaze flaking, and it is in good condition. It comes with a box.
