Sukhothai Kingdom Small Jar with Arabesque Pattern in Underglaze Iron
ARCHIVEDA small jar fired in the Si Satchanalai kilns, known as Sawankhalok kilns, during the Sukhothai kingdom. It has a flat bottom like an earthenware in a shape close to a sphere, and a fine arabesque pattern is drawn on the side by iron painting. Since it was not glazed, it was not for export, but rather like a ritual vessel or a water jug for kneading betel nut lime for domestic demands.
There are spots where the painting is faded. There are no notable defects other than some flaking on the bottom.
