Inuyama Ware Blue and White Bottle with Flower and Leaves Design

ARCHIVED

A bottle with a cup-shaped mouth fired in a Maruyama kiln in the late Edo period. It was probably the work of the early Tenpo period when the production of blue-and-white began in Inuyama Castle. Flowers and leaves, horse eyes (swirls), and lotus petals are drawn on the body, and an iron glaze is applied to the inside of the footring. Although this piece’s decoration is evident as an imitation of Vietnamese blue-and-white , it is interesting that the detailed depiction is far from the actual Vietnamese ware.

口Three small chips on the rim, but there are no noticeable defects. There is a slight liquor odour. Come with a box.
