Sukhothai Kingdom Sawankhalok Celadon Cup with Fluted Pattern
ARCHIVEDA cup fired in the Si Satchanalai kilns, known as Sawankhalok kilns, during the Sukhothai kingdom. A highly transparent celadon glaze is applied to the grey-brown base, showing an olive green colour.
The fluted pattern applied to the exterior is not only decoration and has a practical aspect of preventing distortion. In addition to the well-proportioned shape that rises gracefully from the flared base and opens the lip, it is an attractive piece with a crystal clear glaze.
There are a few minor chips on the base, but other than that, there are no other noticeable defects. It comes with a box.
