Hasami Ware Kurawanka Plate
ARCHIVEDA Hasami ware Kurawanka dish fired in the middle of the Edo period. The Niuribune (food boat) that sells sake and simmered food to passengers travelling up and down the Yodo River in Osaka is called a Kurawanka ship, and the table wares used there are called ‘Kurawanka’. This piece has a classic design, an arabesque pattern on the rim, and a five-petaled flower in the centre, and it is found in mint condition, which is rare for this tableware. The fine finish and the decoration are explicit; therefore, it is an ideal piece for this type.
