Ming Dynasty Ko-sometsuke Blue and White Porcelain Dish with Floral Design in Relief
¥34,000 JPYA blue and white porcelain dish fired in Jingdezhen at the end of the Ming dynasty. A group of blue and white porcelain pieces produced in private kilns of Jingdezhen around the Tianqi period (1621-27) and exported to Japan are known as “Ko-sometsuke” or Tianqi porcelain. The thin vessel is decorated with relief engravings, and features a floral design in the center of the window. There is mushikui (unglazed spots) on the rim, and radial plane marks remain inside the foot. The painting has a subtle exotic feel, and the faint relief design in the white space create a chic atmosphere.
There are two hairlines on the rim but no other noticeable defects.
