Joseon Dynasty Kuro-Korai Type Black Glazed Bottle
A black-glazed sake bottle, known as a Kuro-Korai tokkuri, crafted during the early Joseon dynasty. It features a graceful silhouette with a rounded waist, with the rich black glaze extending seamlessly to the side of the base. The mouth is rolled inward, adding a refined touch, and a small amount of kiln grit adheres inside the base. The bottle was glazed twice using a distinctive black glazing method typical of the Kuro-Korai type, with the layered application visible around the waist. Its elegant finish and well-balanced dimensions make it ideal for meditative sake drinking.
With a capacity of approximately 300ml, this bottle was initially an excavated piece but shows minimal signs of damage, with only minor scratches. The area around the foot has a slightly matte texture due to its position during firing. It is housed in a storage box.
