Mino Ware Ofukei Glazed Vase
ARCHIVED
A Mino ware Ofukei glazed vase fired in Mino in the early Edo period. It exemplifies the elegance and subtle artistry of early Ofukei-type. It features a plump body and a trumpet-shaped mouth, with thin walls and a neat silhouette that lends it a refined and sophisticated appearance. A single glaze drip, overlapping the white surface, adds an expressive detail, while the lack of the mouth enhances its wabi-sabi charm, celebrating beauty in imperfection.
Minor damages and grits are attached during the kiln process, as well as a single chip on the foot.
