Joseon Dynasty White Porcelain Faceted Cup

ARCHIVED

A white porcelain cup fired in the latter half of the Joseon dynasty. It is probably the work immediately after the official kiln was relocated to the renowned Bunwon-ri. At first glance, the small figure looks like a miniature grave goods, but it is thought to be a general cup made for the royal palace because of the elaborate faceting of twelve faces and the glazing whole on the base.

The soft touch glaze and the curved shape fit well in your hand. There are no notable defects other than the minor natural alterations during the kiln process.
