Yuan Dynasty Cizhou-type Ware White-Ground Black-Painted Dish with Phoenix Design
ARCHIVEDA Cizhou-type ware dish fired in the Yuan dynasty. A phoenix with a swirling head and legs is drawn on a white slip surface and applied a black iron glaze on the rim to the wall. The phoenix that twists the neck and is surrounded by swirls is an abstracted design of the “swinging headed phoenix” style. It is a coherent but mysterious design full of vitality.
It is ideal for practical use due to its sturdy and straightforward made typical of Cizhou-type ware during this period. There is sand adhesion on the exposed base but no other noticeable defects. Comes with a box.
