Satsuma Ware Tateno Type Tenmoku Glazed Teabowl
ARCHIVEDA Satsuma ware teabowl fired in a Tateno-type kiln in the late Edo period. It has a rounded shape resembling a Korean-style bowl, and the black and white glaze applied inside and outside is reminiscent of Cizhou-type ware. The Tenmoku glaze has splendid oil droplets (Yuteki-Tenmoku), and the exposed base reveals sticky dark brown clay, further enhancing the elegance of tea. While referring to designs from overseas, this teabowl is heavy in weight and shows the unique boldness of Satsuma.
There are no noticeable flaws besides an old lacquer repair on the base. It comes with a drawstring pouch and a box.
